My husband and I agreed that this Valentine’s we weren’t going to exchange gifts (since we have so many baby expenses coming up). I still wanted to do something special, so I surprised him with Breakfast in Bed, complete with super delicious and healthy Banana and Egg Pancakes.
The recipe is super simple. Beat 2 eggs, Mash 1 Banana and stir together. Heat on a griddle or pan under medium heat. I used these heart-shaped pancake and egg pans.
I also made sunny side up eggs on whole wheat toast and my husband’s favorite: chocolate chip muffins.
Hope you’re valentine’s day was as sweet as ours. <3

Making a green smoothie is such an easy way to get more veggies in during the day – and it taste good too! Especially if you add a sweet fruit, like bananas This one is a simple recipe, using a handful of spinach, bananas, some flax seeds and almond milk. The best part is that the measurements don’t have to be exact – you can adjust to your liking
Happy 2014! So many things to be excited about this coming year!
No resolutions this year (since I’m horrible at keeping them)… just trying to live and have fun in the moment, day by day… and maybe take a trip or two this year
Merry Christmas from our family to yours <3
We’re spending Christmas this year with Family. Mine is in San Diego and Alex is in LA – which means lots of driving, but it’s worth it to see our families. Hope you have a wonderful holiday
It’s been an unusually warm winter in LA this season, so I was so happy to find this sweater that’s not too warm, but cozy at the same time. It’s from Urban Outfitters and comes in 4 colors – I got the cream and the gray Love this felt and feather hat, as well, from Anthropologie.
I’ve sort of been obsessed with finding easy and healthy meals to make, thanks to pinterest! When I stumbled upon this corn and asparagus salad recipe this afternoon, I knew that it would pair perfectly with the salmon that I already had in mind for dinner. This baked salmon with lemon and rosemary is a dish that I’ve made about a dozen times – it always turns out perfectly moist and delicious, even when my proportions are slightly off (I end up winging it most of the time anyway). This time, I skipped the salt and used salt-free Mrs. Dash and to my surprise, I didn’t even notice the difference!
The corn, asparagus and tomato salad is another easy recipe that I’ll be sure to replicate often this season. It was a nice alternative to the roasted asparagus that I usually make with this dish. This chilled salad was a perfect side dish on this warm summer night. Looking forward to dining al fresco many more times this summer!
Ready to go in the oven!

I love dining outdoors in the warm summer nights!
I mean… how delicious does this look? I even have enough for lunch tomorrow, yay!
I made these for my dear friend Annie’s baby’s blessing. It was a particularly beautiful and sunny Sunday morning in LA and I wanted to make something light (and pretty). I thought that these strawberry shortcakes were perfect with just the right amount of sweetness in the homemade whipped cream.
I love these little epoch pots from Anthropologie… they come in different sizes and colors so you can mix and match. The only problem is they don’t have a drainage hole in the bottom, so all I did was drill a hole in the bottom! Super simple DIY
Purging my closet this weekend! I have so many clothes that I just simply don’t wear anymore since I’ve switch careers (many of them still have tags!). Clothing exchange anyone??
These mirror where a great sale find from Anthropologie + a peak at the Charley Harper puzzle that took Alex and my brother 2 weeks to finish!
We did not want to wake up this morning :/
My cute little $3 plant from Ikea (super simple DIY to come), plus one level of the bookshelf in our living room
Experimenting in the kitchen this morning and getting ready for valentine’s day!
32/365: This flea market find is now my vanity bench…. still have to reupholster it — maybe with this fabric?
33/365: My collection of plates in the bookshelf of our dining room… we hung them on the wall in our previous home, still deciding what to do with them.

I’m always looking for a great pant for the office, and these Charlie Pants from Anthropologie are perfect! I can dress them up or dress them down depending on my shoes and what I wear on top. They’re also super comfortable… perfect for work and play
One of my favorite necklaces.
PS, I’m OBSESSED with these boots by H by Hudson. They go with pretty much everything in my closet.
